Introducing VIC-Gimbal: Automatic Calibration for DIC

Designed for precision, automated calibration of VIC-3D systems, the VIC-Gimbal provides a unique solution for researchers working with high-resolution cameras, small depths-of-field (DOF), confined/hazardous testing areas, and iterative testing scenarios requiring programmable, repeatable calibration.

Visualizing Digital Image Correlation is a new series that provides a unique window into advanced features and workflows using the iris graphics workspace within digital image correlation software from Correlated Solutions. Each video provides our customers the opportunity to watch the production of an iris project - one that is featured in a corresponding promotional video or application note - at their own pace with minimal instruction. Episode 1 corresponds to the DIC + Thermal Imaging Application Note which covers the updated calibration procedure for VIC-3D 10 and thermal imaging (IR) cameras

Customer support is paramount here at Correlated Solutions. For years, our Support Team has developed comprehensive Application Notes to better explain the more complex operations in VIC-3D. Recently, we conducted a controlled test featuring the infrared module in VIC-3D 10 to demonstrate an updated procedure for calibrating IR and white light cameras. To better illuminate this new, more effective method, we produced a video version of the DIC + Thermal Imaging Application Note to cover the whole process from calibration to DIC/IR visualization using iris in VIC-3D 10.
