High Speed Rugby Ball Strain Test

To celebrate the 2019 Rugby World Cup, we performed a deformation test on an official Gilbert Rugby ball. Starting with a matte base, we applied a speckle pattern to the surface of the ball. For the test, we used two Photron high speed Nova cameras, the powerful VIC-3D digital image correlation system, and one sales engineer. The ability to quickly and accurately measure and visualize strain under load can benefit research and development and lead to improvements in performance and durability. Contact our sales team to explore how the VIC-3D digital image correlation system can revolutionize your design and testing program.
