Custom Triggering & Data Acquisition for DIC

Introducing the VIC-ATB & VIC-DAQ

Correlated Solutions is proud to introduce a new line of custom triggering and data acquisition devices developed specifically for Digital Image Correlation.

VIC-ATB (Advanced Trigger Box)

The VIC-ATB is a sturdy, compact unit developed for synchronous image acquisition of stereo camera systems. It can trigger up to sixteen cameras enabling multiple stereo systems to be synchronized with ease. The flexible pulse width and time delay features are ideal for applications that require a stroboscope, such as a rotating tire or a discrete frequency event. Designed to operate with VIC-Snap 10 software, the VIC-ATB is an integral part of the Correlated Solutions standard turnkey 3D DIC system.

VIC-DAQ (Data Acquisition for DIC)

In addition to the triggering capability of the VIC-ATB, the VIC-DAQ is designed for synchronous data acquisition for DIC. Analog inputs on the back of the unit allow DIC image-synchronized analog data acquisition up to 6 channels with an input range of ± 10 V. Users can synchronize analog data from sources such as load cells, LVDTs, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc., and combine it with VIC-3D variables (e.g. strains and displacements).

The VIC-DAQ currently comes in two versions: Analog Input (AI) and Flex Trigger (FT). The VIC-DAQ (Analog Input Module) allows users to synchronize up to six channels of analog data with DIC image acquisition. The analog to digital converter (ADC) features a resolution of 16 bits and a sampling rate of 10 kS/s per channel. The VIC-DAQ FT (Flex Trigger) features cyclic analog input signals for fatigue or vibration tests, which when analyzed by VIC-Snap, allow for precise DIC image acquisition with flexible triggering options.
